Throughout his visit, Dr. Tapan shared heartfelt impressions of Vietnam. “I would like to see what lies beyond the visible. It is the spirit of resilience, the hard work of the Vietnamese people, and the aspiration to become the best country in the world, an aspiration you are clearly working toward. This is evident in everything you do,” he said.

He also emphasized the deep-rooted connection between Vietnam and India. Referring to his visit to the Mariamman Hindu Temple in Saigon, Dr. Tapan highlighted the shared cultural heritage shaped over thousands of years, from Sanskrit influences to spiritual traditions. “Our friendship goes back thousands of years. That really touched me, and it made me feel very happy and deeply connected to Vietnam,” he remarked.

As a thought leader in the insurance industry, Dr. Tapan underscored the vital role of insurance in fostering economic growth and social resilience. “Insurance and economic growth go together. In countries like Vietnam and India, which are growing so fast and so well, insurance penetration must also increase. Every citizen needs to be covered, and this directly impacts GDP growth,” he explained. He further noted that studies show GDP can rise by 3–4 percent when citizens are fully insured, creating a happier and more prosperous society.

Beyond the economic dimension, Dr. Tapan shared an inspiring perspective on insurance as an act of collective responsibility through his “Forward Karo Care” program. He described insurance as “individual CSR,” where each premium contributes not only to personal protection but also to supporting fellow citizens in times of need.

When asked about essential policies for a secure life, Dr. Tapan recommended life insurance, family health insurance, and property insurance, affordable protections that ensure stability and safeguard families.

Closing his remarks, Dr. Tapan offered a message of solidarity to Vietnam: “The Vietnamese people are very close to one another. Insurance plays a vital role in this. When you contribute to insurance, you are helping take care of your brothers and sisters if anything goes wrong. No Vietnamese person should suffer misfortune. Be happy, be prosperous, and continue to be the amazing people that you are.”
